Descent

Standard
Once upon a time
A man jumped from a plane
A woman held his hand
After he landed in the sand

A lion sitting on the crown
Over the parachute floating down
Two steel wings cover the pin
Piercing the hearts of those survivors

After so long the memories fade
Passed onto the next for their safekeeping
Tears have been wept
And a goodnight bade
Now is the time for their sleeping

Now it all just seems a blur
Of cups of hot water and fruitless cake
But never forgotten what you were
Or the risks you had to take
Jumping from a plane
Waiting on the ground
